You have probably seen them around in your local community, but would you know how to use a Defibrillator in the event of someone going into cardiac arrest?
Defibrillator placement is increasing every week throughout Lincolnshire and the UK, and it is becoming more vital for people to know how to use them. They could increase the chances of survival if administered quickly and combined with cardio pulmonary resuscitation (commonly known as CPR), it may be the difference between life and death.
Why Defibrillator training?
The survival chain contains four vital time critical links…but just one delay or missing link will decrease any chance of survival.
The four survival chain links are:
- Early recognition and call for help
- Early CPR
- Early defibrillation within the first 10 minutes
- Early advanced care will increase the survival chances
While anyone can use a defibrillator in order to try and potentially save someone’s life, basic life support training is always beneficial to know, just in case you ever need it.
This course with Hargreaves First Aid Training will give you the confidence to deal with an unresponsive casualty not breathing normally, how to use a defibrillator to treat a victim of cardiac arrest and how to recognise the signs and symptoms of cardiac arrest.
The course is only 2 hours and a certificate will be issued to each learner that is valid for 1 year.
